Edmonds Arts Festival

EAF Logo

Each year the Edmonds Arts Festival partners with the Edmonds School District to showcase over 1000 pieces of student art in their Student Art Exhibit. The goal of this popular exhibit is to provide a venue which celebrates the talents and creative expressions of our young artists. Kindergarten through 12th grade students living or attending public or private school within the Edmonds School District boundaries are eligible to apply.

Artwork is selected through two different procedures, School Select and Open Class.
School Select - Determined by student population, each participating school is given an allotment of pieces they may display. It is the school's choice as to how they decide what pieces to submit. Students should check with their teachers or office managers for information about their School Select entry procedures.
Open Class Select - K-12 student artists that do not have the School Select option, or did not qualify through the School Select program are invited to submit art for consideration through Open Class Selection. Open class selection is done by two local professional artists. For Open Class criteria and instructions, click on the following link: Open Class Instructions
Open Class registrations accepted on-line May 1-May 7
In-Person Open Class registrations accepted May 7, 2020 from 2-6 pm
Edmonds School District's Educational Service Center

Awards of excellence will be awarded to outstanding artwork selected by two professional artist jurors. In addition, one piece of artwork will be selected to be the 2020 Edmonds Arts Festival Student Art Poster. This art piece is selected by the Festival Student Art Directors and will be displayed and sold during the event. These honors are awarded with cash prizes. The award ceremony will take place Saturday morning (10 AM) during the festival on the main stage. Student Gallery awards are sponsored by the Port of Edmonds.

The ESD Public Relations Office will select approximately 35 pieces of ESD student artwork to be featured in the district’s 2020-21 District Calendar. These pieces are collected and will be displayed at the district office this summer and students and their parents will be invited to a special recognition reception at an ESD School Board meeting in the fall.

The Edmonds Arts Festival and the Student Art Gallery is powered by volunteers. It's a fun and easy way to support your community, the students and the arts. Volunteer opportunities include exhibit set up, exhibit greeter, and exhibit take down.
