Summer School 2026
What program will Edmonds be using for Summer School?
- Graduation Alliance
- The courses are all online and students work independently with the support of their online instructor or may attend the “Drop-In Lab” for additional support from an in-person teacher.
What are the program dates?
- Registration Opens - May 1, 2026
- Registration Deadline - June 23, 2026
- Coursework Completion - June 29 - July 25, 2026
- Final Exams Only - July 27 - July 30, 2026
- Students may work ahead, but coursework and final exams have required completion dates.
Are students required to attend in person?
- No, it is all online. Students work independently.
- Drop-In Lab available Monday-Thursday
What is the “Drop-In Lab” schedule and location?
- June 29 - July 30, 2026, Monday - Thursday
- 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
- Located at Alderwood Middle School
- The lab is optional and not required
What is considered credit recovery?
- Credit recovery is for students who previously lost credit due to failing grades such as F, NC, or I, currently on their transcript.
- Students will receive a letter grade for successful completion of the course.
What is First-Time/New Credit?
- These are courses you have never attempted before, and you are working ahead to fulfill graduation requirements.
- We have limited courses available, including elective Art Courses, Personal Finance, Physical Education, and Health.
Will letter grades be awarded for summer school courses?
Yes, students will receive the letter grade earned on their transcript upon successful completion of the course.
IMPORTANT- REQUIREMENT FOR SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF A COURSE
- To earn percentage/letter grade credit for a course, students must:
- Complete coursework with a cumulative average grade of 60% or higher.
- Complete a final exam with a grade of 60% or higher
- We cannot finalize grades for students who have not met the final exam grade requirements.
Eligibility:- Final exams will be unlocked only if a student receives a grade for all assignments in the course and passes the class with an overall grade of at least 60%.
- Students need to pass the final exam with a passing grade of 60% or greater. If students do not achieve 60%, they can attempt two more times.
What happens if a student starts a summer school class and realizes they will not be able to finish the course? What is entered on the student's transcript?
- Nothing, no entry is made to the transcript
- There will be no refunds past June 25, 2026.
