2026-27 Budget Development
The 2025–2026 legislative session, combined with strong community support and voter approval of our district’s Educational Programs and Operations (EP&O) Levy renewal, has helped provide a stable budget for the upcoming school year. Thanks to the school board’s thoughtful, and often difficult, decisions regarding budget cuts in recent years, our district is not facing the same acute financial challenges this year as many others across the state. While we are not yet in a position to restore all of the reductions made over the past four years, we are grateful that we do not need to make additional budget cuts for the 2026–2027 school year. We will continue to advocate in the coming year for full funding of public education in our state.
2026 Legislative Priorities
Edmonds School District and its Board of Directors are dedicated to collaborating with lawmakers to enhance public education in Washington state. In the upcoming Legislative Session, our school district asserts that the Legislature must meet its constitutional paramount duty by funding critical needs.
