How to submit an Audio or Video Recording with a Media Recording Submission Type

​1. Click on Modules in your Canvas Course

2. Click on the Assignment

3. Click on Start Assignment

Read through the assignment details. When you are ready to record or submit the file, select Start Assignment.

4. Click on Record / Upload Media

5. Click on Upload Media to submit a file from your Google Drive

6. Click on Select Audio File or Select Video File

Make sure the audio or video file are accessible for your teacher to view. Some video file types are not viewable on all computers.

7. Click on Record Media to record audio or video using Canvas

Note:

• You will be prompted to allow access to your Camera and Microphone in the browser.

• The recording tool is meant for short recordings and there are no editing tools.

8. Click on Mic (Audio Only) or Webcam (Audio and Video)

If there are multiple microphone or camera options connected, you will be prompted to choose which one to use.

9. Click on Start Recording

10. Click on Finish when done recording

11. Preview your recording

If you want to record it again, select Start Over.

12. Type in the File Name - Title the Media Recording

13. Click on Save Media

This does not submit the assignment, this only saves your recording.

14. Optional: Add a comment to your file submission

15. Select Submit Assignment
