Elementary Mathematics Curriculum

Kindergarten through Grade 6

Our Elementary Mathematics program (grades K-6) uses the Math Expressions materials written by Dr. Karen Fuson and published by Houghton-Mifflin/Harcourt. This program has a strong and aggressive approach to arithmetic and its underlying algebraic structure. At every grade level the content we teach meets or exceeds Washington State's Standards in Mathematics. We are in our 2nd year with Math Expressions and as we move forward we expect to see solid, deep learning by our students.

Home and Family Resources:

  • Think Central is a website with online read-only access to our student math books. Students can access the website with their district email.
  • Helping Your Child Learn Mathematics brochures (by grade level)

K-2      3-4      5-6

  • Understanding Your Child's Report Card brochures were created to help parents understand their child's progress. Each brochure outlines what your child should know and be able to do by the end of each grade level.
  • Eduplace is a resource provided by Houghton Mifflin. While coordinated with the 2006 not 2009 version of Math Expressions (which Edmonds uses) many good resources can be found here!
