Literacy
In the Edmonds School District, we believe literacy – encompassing reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills – is the cornerstone of learning. These skills are recognized as a fundamental right for every student. Our adopted curriculum aligns with the Common Core State Standards, detailing the knowledge and competencies students require for literacy proficiency. All instructional staff commit to providing PreK-12th grade students a comprehensive literacy education, fostering critical thinking strategies and competent, lifelong readers, writers, and communicators.
