i-Ready

i-Ready is an online program for reading and math that is used by students in many classrooms across the Edmonds School District. At the classroom level, i-Ready helps your student’s teacher(s) determine your student’s needs, personalize their learning, and monitor their progress throughout the school year. At the school/district level, i-Ready helps staff to monitor progress of student groups (e.g. grade levels) and to inform instructional improvement efforts.
i-Ready consists of two parts:
- Diagnostic- Students in grades K-8 complete i-Ready math and reading diagnostics in the fall, winter, and spring of each school year (exception is Kindergarten students, who typically test only in winter and spring). The i-Ready diagnostic is adaptive, which means that each item a student sees is individualized based on their answer to the previous question. For example, a series of correct answers will result in slightly harder questions, while a series of incorrect answers will yield slightly easier questions. This data is used by your student's teacher to adjust classroom instruction and to identify students who may need additional instruction/support.
- Personalized Instruction (MyPath)- Teachers use i-Ready as a way to differentiate learning for students. i-Ready Personalized Instruction provides students with lessons based on their individual skill level and needs, so your student can learn at a pace that is just right for them. The type and difficulty of questions that your student receives are based on their performance on the most recently completed Diagnostic.
Students access i-Ready through the Clever website. Click here for instructions on how to log into Clever.
Please see the i-Ready Family Center for more information about i-Ready, including a Family Guide, FAQs, and support in understanding your student's Diagnostic results. It is available in multiple languages (use the drop-down menu in the upper right corner of the page).
