LEAD

Library Equity and Diversity Team

This team is a group of Edmonds School District Library Media Specialists and Sno-Isle Librarians.

Edmonds School District and Sno-Isle librarians work hard to ensure that all books we recommend/purchase for our school library collections meet our district's selection guidelines and policies. One of LEAD's (Librarians for Equity and Diversity) goals is to provide updated lists of well-reviewed titles which authentically and joyously center characters from historically marginalized communities.

In 2020-2021 school year and after LEAD worked on creating book list that aligned with the district's Monthly Equity Theme. This list are available below for you to use in your home or classroom. Books are listed by grade level they are best suited for.

Thanks to donations from Edmonds PTA Council , Friends of the Lynnwood Library, Molina Healthcare and many more through the Edmonds PTA Council's World of Books Program. The Family and Community Engagement team have been able to add 10 new books to every school library in the Edmonds School District that bring visibility to May, June, September, and February themes.
