Disability Awareness Month
October
October is Disability History and Awareness Month, a time to honor the achievements, contributions, and rich history of individuals with disabilities, while fostering greater understanding, inclusion, and respect within our school community.
At Edmonds School District, we are committed to creating an environment where every student, staff member, and family feels valued, regardless of ability. This month serves as an important reminder of our shared responsibility to break down barriers, embrace diversity, and champion equity for all.
Why Disability Awareness Matters: Disability History and Awareness Month not only celebrates the advances in disability rights and inclusion but also brings attention to the ongoing challenges faced by individuals with disabilities.
