District Equity Themes

What is a Monthly Equity Theme?

Equity monthly theme serves as broad guidance and support for the equity work in our district. The themes help highlight some of the many intersectionalities and priorities of equity work that are needed on an ongoing basis to help collaboration and growth in our system. The goal of the themes is to grow and co-create/co-design events that highlight the theme geared towards families, students, staff, and community.

Planning Committee overview:

For the 2023-2024 school year we are planning a monthly celebration for each theme.

To provide ideas, support, feedback or more information please email familyengagement@edmonds.wednet.edu.

Librarians for Equity and Diversity (LEAD)

Thanks to donations from Edmonds PTA Council , Friends of the Lynnwood Library, Molina Healthcare and many more through the Edmonds PTA Council's World of Books Program. We have been able to add 10 new books to every school library in the Edmonds School District that bring visibility to May, June, September, February, March and November themes.
Our goal is to have 10 books per theme add to our school libraries on regular basis. These books are selected based on Librarians for Equity and Diversity (LEAD).
