What is a Monthly Equity Theme?
Our monthly Equity themes serve as broad guidance and support for equity work in our district. The themes highlight the many intersectionalities and priorities of equity work needed on an ongoing basis to support collaboration and growth in our system. The goal of the themes is to grow and co-create/co-design events that highlight each theme and are geared toward families, students, staff, and the community.

Want books to read that highlight each month?
Librarians for Equity and Diversity (LEAD)
Thanks to donations from Edmonds PTA Council, Friends of the Lynnwood Library, Molina Healthcare, and many more through the Edmonds PTA Council's World of Books Program. We have added 10 new books to every school library in the Edmonds School District, bringing visibility to May, June, September, February, March, and November themes.
Our goal is to have 10 books per theme added to our school libraries on a regular basis. These books are selected based on Librarians for Equity and Diversity (LEAD).

November: Indigenous/ Native American Heritage Month

January: Celebrate Diversity month
February: Black Lives Matter Month of Action in Edmonds

May: Asian/Pacific Islander/ Native Hawaiian American Month
June: Pride Month
