Sports Participation Fees
Sports Participation Fee Caps and Refunds
Sports Participation Fees
Sports participation fees are charged per student, per sport, at the following levels:
| High School | $200 per sport |
| Middle School | $130 per sport |
| K–8 | $80 per sport |
| Unified/Special Olympics | $50 per sport |
Participation Fee Caps
Sports fee caps apply to each individual student-athlete and are not family caps. Fees paid for one student do not count toward another student’s cap.
- High school: Students who pay and participate during two athletic seasons receive their third season free.
- Middle school: Students who pay and participate during three of the four athletic seasons receive their fourth season free.
The cap is based on athletic seasons, not the number of sports. If a high school student participates in two sports during the same season, a fee is required for each sport, but they count as one season toward the cap.
Sports Participation Fee Refunds
All refund requests must be reviewed and processed by District Athletics; schools cannot issue or guarantee refunds.
A student may qualify for a refund if they:
- Stop participating within the first two calendar weeks of practice; and
- Attend no more than five practices.
The refund period ends as soon as either limit is reached. Students are not eligible for a refund after participating in a jamboree, scrimmage, game, meet, match, or other contest. Students who are cut from a team are eligible for a refund.
Families should contact their student’s school to request a refund. The school will verify the student’s participation and submit the request to District Athletics for review. Submission does not guarantee approval.
