Upgrades & Renewals Project Updates
Thanks to a Federal grant available through Snohomish County’s Office of Housing & Community Development, plus efforts from ESD’s Student Health Services and other district departments, a new medical facility is being built to provide some optional support for our Meadowdale High School students. The new building is located at the NE corner of campus, with new utility connections, interior work, & site work (parking stalls/sidewalk/landscape) ongoing.

The space conversion project is on track for substantial completion at the end of January. Contractor equipment is currently being removed and cleaning is underway in preparation for occupancy. Furniture has been delivered and some assembly is required.

The fieldhouse is getting down to the final stretch before substantial completion (end of February). Building envelope, HVAC, and fire/life/safety systems will be tested soon. Final finishes, signage, & site work will be wrapping up in the next few weeks. In addition, the new baseball/multipurpose field bleachers are complete, with only a few items left for the pressbox to be operational.

The Fieldhouse project is looking more and more like an Edmonds Woodway H.S. campus building. Exterior brick walls are complete, metal roof panels have been delivered, gutters & downspouts are currently being installed, and a majority of the concrete flatwork around the building is done. Interior finishing, painting, and further detailing continues. Finally, the adjacent baseball/multipurpose field bleachers and pressbox are about 80% complete.

An existing space at the Maplewood K8 School is in process of conversion into a multi-purpose room. This will assist with the current music program, as well as secondary classroom needs. Wall finishes, acoustical detailing, and casework are in place, with new flooring, lighting, mechanical & electrical systems in progress.
