This project replaced existing Maintenance, Transportation & Warehouse facilities with a new facility on a new site. The new facility is approximately 69,000 square feet on a 19 acre site. The project takes advantage of site improvements constructed in 2007 for an earlier concept of this project. The facilities maintenance component consists of administrative offices and shops dedicated to general carpentry, mechanical work, welding, and grounds. There is also a paint booth, roofing shop, plumbing shop, and several tool cribs and work areas for the respective crews. The transportation component of the facility houses the transportation office and seven service bays dedicated to buses and other fleet vehicles. In addition there are shop areas, parts storage spaces, and spaces serving the transportation maintenance crew. The warehouse component provides offices for warehouse staff and district storage for supplies and equipment. There is high-bay storage areas accessed with forklifts, open staging area for shipping and receiving, three bay loading dock, walk-in freezer, cooler, and dry-goods storage area. The site accommodates parking for approximately 160 school buses, as well as parking for district fleet vehicles, maintenance equipment, and staff passenger vehicles. An existing parking area of approximately 55 stalls was maintained and passenger vehicle parking for approximately 180 vehicles was added. There is a fueling station consisting of three covered bays for bus and other District vehicle fueling, a bus wash facility and adjacent underground fuel tanks.
