College Place Campus Project Updates

Construction is well underway for the replacement of College Place Elementary School and College Place Middle School. College Place Elementary School staff have been working diligently to open the school year at their temporary relocation to Woodway Elementary School. College Place Middle School will remain in operation on the existing campus during construction. Capital Projects successfully moved College Place Elementary over summer and are working alongside both schools to settle into their new routines and keep students safe while construction progresses.

We are excited to announce that construction is officially underway for the replacement of College Place Elementary School and College Place Middle School. This milestone marks the beginning of a transformative project that will provide modern, safe, and innovative learning environments for students, staff, and the broader community for generations to come.

In partnership with and with the support of the City of Lynnwood, all necessary permits have been approved, and the contractor has begun mobilization activities on site. Initial work includes the installation of construction fencing, placement of construction trailers, and preparation of the project area for upcoming construction activities.

College Place Elementary School staff have been working diligently to prepare for their temporary relocation to Woodway Elementary School. Over the coming weeks, classrooms, offices, and learning materials will be packed and moved to the interim site, where students and staff will continue teaching and learning throughout the two year construction period.

College Place Middle School will remain in operation on the existing campus during construction. Students and staff will continue learning in the current facility until the new middle school building is completed. The school community will move directly into the new facility during the summer of 2028, allowing 6-8 grade students to begin at their new Middle School. Soon after, the existing College Place Middle will be demolished and the area converted into a park like setting for student and community use.

The City of Lynnwood is currently reviewing the permit set for the College Place Elementary School and Middle School Replacement project. The constructibility report was approved by the board Tuesday 24th February.

The project team is nearing completion of their construction documents and bid set. Bidding is scheduled to take place over a two-day period in early April, followed by a two-day period in mid-May.
