2021-22 School Year Student Intent Form

2021-22 School Year Student Intent Form

Posted on 05/13/2021

We are excited for the 2021-22 school year, and are looking forward to returning to in-person learning 5 days a week. At the same time, we will offer a full-time online school for families who want a 100 percent remote option.

In order to plan for staffing, families are being sent the 2021-22 School Year Intent Form for each student. The intent form will be sent to the email address of guardian one/family one in Skyward Family Access. The form will close at 11 p.m. Monday, May 24.

From: Edmonds School District <noreply@surveys.edmonds.wednet.edu>

Dear Edmonds School District families,

We are already planning for next year. We are asking all families to fill out an individual Student Intent Form by 11 p.m. on Monday, May 24, 2021.

Please choose in-person learning *OR* online learning. Click on the link below to complete the 2021-22 School Year Intent Form for [Student Name].

The district plans to offer in-person learning 5 days a week for the 2021-22 school year.

Because some families may still need or want remote schooling, the district will offer online learning programs. The online learning programs will be different from the current remote learning model where students are still enrolled in their neighborhood school and are taught by teachers from that school. **For next year, our online learning programs will act as separate schools with their own teachers and staff.**

What will the online learning programs look like?

The online learning programs will vary by grade level. High school students who want online learning will be a part of the Edmonds eLearning Academy. For our 7th-8th graders, we are looking at the best possible online options to meet their developmental and academic needs. For elementary students, we plan to provide a program that will look familiar to this year, with a mix of Zoom classes, small group time, and independent work time.

Why do I need to fill out this information now?

The district needs to assign staff to in-person classrooms and our online learning programs in order to create class assignments and student schedules.

Can I change my decision?

Changing your student’s intent has a significant impact on schedules and staffing for our schools. However, we know circumstances change. The district will send out a follow up message in August, giving families an opportunity to change their intent form if needed. After that, intent changes will be considered on a case by case basis.
**Please do not contact your school to change your intent form.**

**If no response is given, we will plan for your student to attend in-person.**

Sincerely,
Edmonds School District
