No-cost training was sponsored by the Diversity, Equity and Outreach’s Family Academy program
Family members from around the District came together Oct. 28 at Edmonds-Woodway High School to learn about and spend hands-on time with the technology that their students use every day.
The Diversity, Equity and Outreach’s Family Academy program sponsored the no-cost training session, which covered everything from Internet safety for students and what to watch out for, to basic Skyward and Canvas instruction.
Families learned about the Chromebooks that students use for classes and homework and they were shown how to help their student(s) keep their hardware and software safe and virus-free.
They accessed syllabus and homework sites on Canvas and grading and attendance pages in Skyward, among other things, so the whole family can be involved in and better help their student(s) follow achievements and stay current with their classes during the school year.
