Our wrestlers, swimmers and basketball teams were very busy this weekend. Here is a recap:
Wrestling
The following athletes qualified for the State Wrestling Tournament at the Tacoma Dome this weekend:
Edmonds-Woodway Boys: Baylor Denkinger, Grayson LeCompte, Howie Hare, Salihou Fatty, Robbie Simanton and Generous Yeh
Edmonds-Woodway Girls: Vatoria Keyes
Meadowdale Boys: Aria Zarei
Mountlake Terrace Boys: Reyne Mack
Swimming
The following athletes qualified for State Swimming as of Sunday night (wild card entries still to be determined):
Edmonds-Woodway: Jeff Plum, Daniel Eno, Yuteng Wang, Lukas Mraz, Anthony Edwards, Logan Schnitzius, Anton Teplouhov, Niko Inadomi and Ben Palmer
Lynnwood: Zach Bevans
Meadowdale: Sean Nguyenle and Max Khaperman
Mountlake Terrace: Sasha Bogatyrev
District Basketball Tournament Update:
All eight of our basketball teams reached either the district play-in game (5 teams) or advanced directly to their respective district tournaments (3 teams). After the play-in games on Wednesday and Thursday last week, 6 of our teams advanced to their District tournament.
First round results from District Tournaments:
Lynnwood girls defeated Edmonds-Woodway Feb. 8.
Lynnwood will play Shorecrest in the 3A semifinals on Tuesday, Feb. 13 at Mountlake Terrace High at 6:00 p.m. Winner heads to state game.
Edmonds-Woodway will host Ferndale in a 3A loser-out game Tuesday, Feb. 13 at Edmonds-Woodway High at 7:00 p.m.
Meadowdale girls lost to Snohomish Feb. 9.
Meadowdale will play Arlington in a 3A loser out game on Tuesday, Feb. 13 at Arlington High at 7:00 p.m.
Mountlake Terrace boys lost to Sedro-Woolley Feb. 10
Mountlake Terrace will play Lakewood in a 2A loser-out game on Tuesday, Feb. 13 at Skagit Valley College at 7:30 p.m.
Edmonds-Woodway lost to Stanwood Feb. 10
Edmonds-Woodway will host Everett in a 3A loser-out game Wednesday, Feb. 14 at Edmonds-Woodway High at 7:00 p.m.
Meadowdale lost to Marysville Pilchuck Feb. 10
Meadowdale will host Ferndale in a 3A loser-out game on Wednesday, Feb. 14 at Meadowdale High at 7:00 p.m.
