Winter Sports: Congratulations to Our Student-Athletes!

As the spring sports season gets under way this week, we want to tip our hats to the winter sports season and its student-athletes:

 

Basketball

Over the weekend, both the Mountlake Terrace boys’ basketball and Lynnwood girls’ basketball teams lost in their regional games. Lynnwood does not advance, but congratulations on another amazing season.

Mountlake Terrace boys, as one of the top 8 ranked teams in their classification, now advance to the Round of 12 at the 2A State Tournament. They play Liberty at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28 at the SunDome in Yakima.

 

Boys’ Swim

State placers include:

Sean Nguyenly (Meadowdale) – 10th in 100 Fly & 13th in 200 IM

Sasha Bogatyrev (Mountlake Terrace) – 10th in 100 Breaststroke

Daniel Eno (Edmonds-Woodway) – 16th in 100 Breaststroke

Max Khaperman (Meadowdale) – 16th in 100 Free

Anton Teplouhov, Ben Palmer, Niko Inadomi & Lukas Mraz (Edmonds-Woodway) – 12th in 200 Free Relay

Jeff Plum, Daniel Eno, Ethan Wang & Ben Palmer (Edmonds-Woodway) – 14th in 200 Medley Relay

Ethan Wang, Daniel Eno, Niko Inadomi & Logan Schnitzius (Edmonds-Woodway) – 15th in 400 Free Relay

Wrestling

State placers Include:

Grayson LeCompte (Edmonds-Woodway) – 3rd place at 126 lbs.

Aria Zarei (Meadowdale) – 4th place at 132 lbs.

Salihou Fatty (Edmonds-Woodway) – 5th place at 132 lbs.

Reyne Mack (Mountlake Terrace) – 7th place at 182 lbs.

Howie Hare (Edmonds-Woodway) – 8th place at 120 lbs

Edmonds-Woodway – Wesco South Champs and South Sub-Regional Champs
