This ballot measures was approved by voters.

It is exciting to see that the majority of voters are supporting the critical capital needs we have here in the Edmonds School District and that our community understands that building safe and accessible learning environments is a long term investment in our kids and their future.”

The Edmonds School District held an election Tuesday, April 27, 2021, with a Capital Levy on the ballot. The School Board unanimously moved to place this measure before voters during a business meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2020.

Make necessary improvement to preserve buildings 

  • Roofs
  • Gutters
  • Boilers
  • Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems
  • Exterior wall improvements
  • Fields, playfields and track improvements

Safety, security & accessibility

  • Upgrade fire alarm panels and fire sprinkler
    systems
  • Improve signage, fencing and gates
  • District-wide accessibility improvements including automatic door openers

Capacity challenges

  • Add building capacity for existing overcrowding by installing relocatable classrooms; Building covered play areas for some elementary schools

Replace old schools well past their lifespan

  • Complete Phase 2 of Spruce Elementary
  • Oak Heights Elementary
