Question: Are masks required? Answer: Face coverings are required statewide in all public spaces because they are effective in slowing the spread of COVID-19, especially when combined with 6 feet of physical distance: Face masks required - dos and dont's

Question: If I have a question related to cleaning, building access, PPE (personal protection equipment), or other facilities related questions, who should I contact?

Question: Are these meals free for all kids or do I need to sign up?
Answer: Yes, all children, ages 1-18 years old, are eligible for a free meal kit. No pre-order is required. Simply, show up at a meal site to pick up your child's meal.

Question: Where can I pick up a free meal for my kids? Answer: For a complete list of meal sites visit the Food & Nutrition Services website. 

Question: I can't make it out to pick up a meal, can you deliver it? Answer: Yes, If you cannot make it to a meal site, please sign up for meals to be delivered to your home by completing a Food Services Meal Delivery Request online. Anyone can help a family complete this survey to place an order for meals.

Question: How do I get an application for meal benefits? Answer: You can print an application from the Food & Nutrition Services website, then mail or drop it off at any meal site. Families can also complete an electronic application in Skyward Family Access.

Question: How can I get a copy of my meal benefits approval letter? Answer: Contact Dee Moran at 425-431-7078 or morand@edmonds.wednet.edu.

 

Question: I need a Hotspot so my student can get internet access, how do I make that happen? Answer: Please contact your student’s principal to request a Hotspot. Your principal will then work with technology to provide you with one.

Question: How do I get my student a Chromebook? Answer: Families who still need a Chromebook should be referred to the technology support team at 425-431-1211 or techsupport@edmonds15.org.

Question: I need help logging into my Chromebook and I have a few other technology questions, who should I contact?

Answer: Families who need help with Chromebook login or other technology support should contact the Technology Support Team at 425-431-1211 or techsupport@edmonds15.org.

Question: Where can I find more online learning resources?

Answer: Families who want more online resources to use with students can go to the district website to find Supplemental Learning Resources.

 

Question: What is Continuous Learning? Answer: The term “continuous learning” means establishing and maintaining connections with students and families to provide learning materials and supports using a variety of modalities (e.g., email, phone, printed learning materials, and available online platforms). The last day of Edmonds School District-lead continuous learning for the 2019-20 school year is Friday, June 19, 2020.

Question: Is the district planning for Continuous Learning as a possibility as part of the 2020-21 school year? Answer: Yes. Plans are very preliminary. More information will be released about the details later.  

 

Question: Will seniors graduate as scheduled?
Answer: Yes, seniors will graduate. One big change is that seniors who are unable to earn the required 22 credits to graduate can apply for an emergency state waiver. Under the emergency waiver, seniors who are not able to earn 22 credits will still be able to graduate, provided that they make an effort to engage in the learning opportunities provided by their teachers. Counselors and principals at each high school will have more specific information about how seniors can access the waiver.
Question: Will graduation ceremonies take place? Answer: In-person graduation ceremonies will not take place as originally scheduled for our 2020 seniors. Plans are in discussion for virtual ceremonies. We understand the importance of the commencement ceremony for our seniors and their families. The impact of COVID-19 has made it even more urgent that we do all that we can to make sure that our seniors are celebrated and receive recognition for their years of effort in school. Please know that if a senior has met all graduation requirements, this is the milestone that signifies a student has graduated. Students will receive their actual diplomas in the mail in late June.

Question: How is the district grading/assessing students?

Answer: Grading information will be coming to families by Friday, May 1. The district received guidance from the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) earlier this month and has been working to develop a grading policy for elementary, middle, and high school students.

Question: When did schools first close in the Edmonds School District? Answer: The Edmonds School District announced on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, that all schools would close beginning Monday, March 16, through April 10, 2020.
Question: When did the governor announce the first extension of school closures? Answer: On Thursday, March 12, 2020, Gov. Inslee announced that all public and private K–12 school facilities in the state were to close from Tuesday, March 17, 2020 until at least Friday, April 24, 2020. 

 

Question: When did the governor announce schools would be closed for the rest of the 2019-20 school year? Answer: On Monday, April 6, 2020, Gov. Inslee announced all schools in the state would remain closed through the end of the school year and that continuous learning would remain in place until each school’s scheduled summer break.
