Google asked our District to hold a Google Symposium in order to showcase our innovative use of technology throughout our classrooms and buildings. We hosted school district leaders from across the region that included visits to Westgate Elementary and Meadowdale Middle with many breakout sessions on various technology and student learning topics.

 

At the event, Technology Director Cynthia Nelson spoke about our journey to 1:1 Chromebooks. It started with a purchase of 1,000 Chromebooks to support SBA testing, using savings from the 2012 voter-approved Technology/Capital Levy. Kim Mathey, Manager of Libraries and Instructional Technology, discussed how we support teachers in order to utilize Chromebooks for student learning. We are proud to share our innovative use of technology in our classrooms!
