Secondary student update - the last few weeks of school

Dear secondary students and families:
As hard as it is to believe, we are closing in on the final day of the school year, June 19. We have been so very impressed with your engagement in school during these last several weeks as we have completely transitioned delivery of content and instruction to a remote learning format. We know that it has been a challenge to make this shift for both students and for family members, so thank you for your work!
June 19 is the last day of school, and as we are preparing to wrap up the school year, we wanted to share some important information with you about the final full week of the school year, June 15 - June 19. We are asking teachers to wrap up their instructional plans and assignments with the week of June 8 - June 12 being the final week that teachers will provide any new assignments for students to complete. We are asking our teachers to use the following week, June 15 - June 19, to work with students to finish submitting classwork that has been assigned previously and to also work on developing plans to help students who will earn an Incomplete grade in their class(es) to recover that grade and earn credit. There will still be some assignments that are due during this final week of school as teachers may have assigned projects or other work that took multiple weeks for students to complete. But, again, teachers will not be assigning any new work for students to complete after June 12.
If you have any questions about student work that needs to be completed in these final days and weeks, we encourage you to contact teachers directly. And finally to our families, please help us to encourage your students to finish these final weeks of the school year strong. Once we get to June 19, we will all be able to take a well-deserved break for summer and get ready for the coming school year.

Estimados estudiantes y familias de secundaria:
Es difícil creer que nos estamos acercando a los últimos días del año escolar, el 19 de junio. Estamos muy impresionados con su participación en la escuela durante estas últimas semanas, ya que hemos hecho una transición completa de la entrega de instrucción a un formato de aprendizaje en línea desde casa. Sabemos que ha sido un desafío hacer este cambio tanto para los estudiantes como para los miembros de la familia, ¡así que gracias por su trabajo!
El 19 de junio es el último día de clases, y mientras nos preparamos para terminar el año escolar, queremos compartir con ustedes información importante sobre la última semana completa del año escolar, del 15 de junio al 19 de junio. Les estamos pidiendo a los maestros que concluyan sus planes de instrucción y tareas, siendo la semana del 8 al 12 de junio la última semana en que los maestros proporcionarán nuevas tareas para que los estudiantes completen. Les pedimos a nuestros maestros que usen la semana siguiente, del 15 de junio al 19 de junio, para trabajar con los estudiantes para terminar de enviar el trabajo de clase que se les ha asignado previamente y también para desarrollar planes para ayudar a los estudiantes que tienen una calificación de incompleta en su clase ( es) para recuperar esa calificación y ganen crédito. Todavía habrá algunas tareas que se vencerán durante esta última semana de clases, ya que los maestros pueden haber asignado proyectos u otro trabajo que les tomó varias semanas para completar. Pero, nuevamente, los maestros no asignarán ningún trabajo nuevo para que los estudiantes después del 12 de junio.
Si tiene alguna pregunta sobre el trabajo de los estudiantes que se debe completar estos últimos días y semanas, le recomendamos que se comunique directamente con los maestros. Y finalmente, a nuestras familias, ayúdenos a animar a sus estudiantes a que terminen el año escolar echándole muchas ganas estas últimas semanas. Una vez que lleguemos al 19 de junio, todos podremos tomar un merecido descanso para el verano y prepararnos para el próximo año escolar.
