Updates from Snohomish Health District regarding COVID-19 and in-person learning

We want to share the latest announcement from Snohomish Health District with information about updated recommendations for schools.
COVID-19 UPDATE
Snohomish Health District shared that the rate of new COVID-19 cases continues to decline.
Snohomish Health District updated recommendations that school districts may begin planning for how to expand in-person learning to elementary school students, as well as special needs and high needs students of any grade level. They continue to recommend that middle and high school students remain in full-remote learning.

TIMELINE
We have previously shared with our staff and community that we plan to do any type of switch to in-person learning at the start of each new quarter or semester.
We have provided the approximate dates for a possible return to in-person learning, if it is safe to do so:
Nov. 12, 2020 - start of second quarter
Feb. 3, 2021 - start of second semester
April 14, 2021 - start of fourth quarter

Please look for more updates in the coming weeks as the district weighs the latest recommendations from Snohomish Health District, our current health and safety protocols, and other recommendations from the Department of Health and the Office of the State Superintendent of Instruction.

ACTUALIZACIÓN DE COVID-19
El Distrito de Salud de Snohomish compartió que la tasa de nuevos casos de COVID-19 continúa disminuyendo.
El Distrito de Salud de Snohomish actualizó las recomendaciones de que los distritos escolares pueden comenzar a planificar cómo expandir el aprendizaje en persona a estudiantes en primaria, así como a los estudiantes con necesidades especiales y altas de cualquier nivel de grado. Continúan recomendando que los estudiantes de intermedio y preparatoria permanezcan en aprendizaje en línea desde casa total.

FECHAS IMPORTANTES
Anteriormente, hemos compartido con nuestro personal y la comunidad que planeamos hacer cualquier tipo de cambio al aprendizaje en persona al comienzo de cada nuevo trimestre o semestre.
Hemos proporcionado las fechas aproximadas para un posible regreso al aprendizaje en persona, si es seguro hacerlo:
12 de noviembre de 2020 - inicio del segundo trimestre
3 de febrero de 2021 - inicio del segundo semestre
14 de abril de 2021 - inicio del cuarto trimestre
