State Testing
Test Schedules for the 2019-2020 School Year
State testing takes place within designated "test windows" that are determined by the state.
Specific test dates will vary by school because schools are usually permitted to choose their own test dates.
An exception to this in our district would be High School tests that take place in the spring at our four comprehensive high schools, which usually occur on pre-determined “late start days.” Those late start days for Spring 2020 have not yet been selected.
On a “late start day” high school students who are testing will begin testing at the normal school start time and classes are scheduled to start later (usually around 10am, although you should confirm the specific times with your student’s school).
The following are the district's test windows for 2019-2020 SBA and WCAS.
- Grade 3 through HS SBA (English Language Arts and Math)...March 26-June 5
- Grades 5 and 8 WCAS (Science)...April 13-June 5
- Grade 11 WCAS (Science)...May 4-June 5
The following are additional test windows:
- Grades 3 through HS WA-AIM (alternate test to SBA and WCAS for special education students)...October 14-April 13
- Grades K-12 ELPA and WIDA (English Learner assessments)...February 3-March 27
