Con Committee
Edmonds School District seeks con committee members
Edmonds School District is seeking to renew its expiring Educational Programs and Operations levy technology/capital levy in the February 10, 2026 Special Election. The levy would continue funding for day-to-day operations not funded by the state including funding for nurses, counselors, academic support and extracurricular activities.
As part of the election process, the district is required to make a request for committee members to prepare pro and/or con statements regarding the two measures. At the November 18, 2025 Edmonds School Board Meeting, a pro committee was assigned. At that time, no applicants for the con committee had been submitted, so the school board has reopened application for a con committee until noon on December 3, 2025.
The Snohomish County voter’s pamphlet will contain pro (supporting) and con (against) statements and rebuttals. The Pro Committee as a group will write a pro statement of up to 250 words and a 75-word rebuttal to the Con Committee statement. The Con Committee will write a 250-word statement in opposition to the ballot measure and a 75-word rebuttal to the Pro Committee’s statement. All must be residents of Snohomish County. The Board can appoint up to three members for each Committee.
Those interested in applying for the con committee should submit their name, contact information, residential address (as committee members must reside within the Edmonds School District boundaries), and a brief statement about why they would like to serve on the con committee. There is a limit of three members per committee, but committees may also seek input from others to help develop a statement.
