Thank you, community!

This ballot measures was approved by voters.

The Edmonds School District Board of Directors voted to place an Education Levy on the Feb. 8, 2022, ballot. This is a replacement of the existing Educational Programs & Operations Levy, not a new tax.

This levy is the second largest revenue source for the Edmonds School District, making up about 15% of the budgeted general fund and approval would renew funding for four years through 2026.

Cost Information

This is a replacement levy, NOT a new tax, and will keep a consistent tax rate.

The levy is not a new tax. It renews an expiring tax that provides local funding for critical needs not covered by state and federal funding.

Our levy makes up 15 percent of our current revenue. Levy failure will mean significant reductions in staff, programs, and services for students.

  • The tax rate for the current Education Levy is $1.49 per $1,000 of assessed property value.
  • The proposed Education Levy tax rate is $1.50 per $1,000 of assessed value, starting in 2023. (In the past, our actual levy tax rates have been lower than our conservative projections.)
