The Edmonds School District is holding an election Tuesday, April 27, 2021, with an important measure on the ballot, a Capital Levy. The school board unanimously moved to place this measure before voters during a business meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2020.
Why does the district need a capital levy?

Maintain what we have by replacing or upgrading:
- Roofs
- Gutters
- Boilers
- Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems
- Exterior wall improvements
- Fields, playfields and track improvements
- Upgrade fire alarm panels and fire sprinkler
systems
- Improve signage, fencing and gates
- District-wide accessibility improvements including automatic door openers
- Add building capacity for increased enrollment
- Build covered play sheds for elementary schools
- Complete Phase 2 of Spruce Elementary
- Oak Heights Elementary

Cost
If approved, the tax rate would be lower than what voters have approved in the past and would maintain a steady local education tax rate over the next six years. See the Financial Information - 2021 Levy.
