Food & Nutrition Services picture

The Food and Nutrition Services Department believes that there is an important, positive relationship between good nutrition and health, behavior and student learning. The Edmonds School District participates in the National School Lunch Program, the School Breakfast Program and the United States Department of Agriculture Food Distribution Program. USDA regulations guide our program. Weekly and monthly menus are planned by experienced staff members and reviewed by a Registered Dietitian. These menus meet the USDA specifications based on the 2015 Dietary Guidelines for Healthy Americans and are designed to appeal to students.

We serve Breakfast and Lunch in every school every day school is in session unless otherwise announced.

We serve approximately 2,300 Breakfasts and 6,400 Lunches each day to Edmonds School District students. About thirty five percent of enrolled students qualify for free or reduced priced meals |Spanish.

We value the input of students, staff, parents and the community.

Wellness Policy

The Edmonds School Board adopted a wellness policy and procedures have been put in place that address how this policy is put into action. The District Wellness Committee developed the policy and procedure to stress nutrition education, encourage students to make healthy choices and live active lifestyles.

Parent input and participation is welcome. Would you like to learn about regulations that govern school breakfast and lunch programs and ongoing efforts for District wellness? Parents and community members are invited to join the District Welness Committee and/or offer input. Please contact Megan de Vries, Director of Food and Nutrition Services, at 425-431-7073.
