Announcements - IB

EWH helmet man in a tieDON'T KNOW WHO TO ASK?  ASK QUINN!

David Quinn is the IB Coordinator at Edmonds-Woodway.  He has been working in the IB program at EWHS for two decades and brings significant experience to his role as IB Coordinator.  If you have any suggestions, questions, or concerns, please email him at quinnd@edmonds.wednet.edu.

ARE YOU AN ANXIOUS 10TH GRADER - OR THE PARENT OF ONE?

Are you filled with fear and a general sense that IB is going to crush you?  Stop.  Use some reason.  EWHS couldn't graduate over 100 full-IB students a year if the program was impossible or unhealthy.  Mr. Quinn will HAPPILY make you a sample IB diploma schedule - and you can then sign up for classes - or you can throw the schedule in the garbage can if you want.  We want you to make a healthy academic choice - one that takes into account YOUR dreams and goals.  So pop into Mr. Quinn's office in C-100 and ask him for assistance.  Are you curious about what a sample schedule might look like? Head over to the DOCUMENTS page and look for the PDF of the 10th grade presentation for pre-IB students and families.  It's a great starting point!

IB EXAM REGISTRATION PAPERWORK (for MAY 2020 Exams)

Mr. Quinn will visit every IB classroom (several times) in September and October - and each student will be emailed the IB Exam Registration packet. It is a program requirement that the packet be brought home and shared with parents, prior to IB Exam registration. It is on the DOCUMENTS page - under the category header "Information for 19-20."  Parents! I'm happy to meet with you to discuss any issue related to IB exams!

IB EXAM INFORMATION (for MAY 2020)

Confused? Not sure about when you have an exam? Can't remember the 16 things Mr. Quinn told you were super important? Want to revisit the IB rules? Desperate to see the IB Poster with the picture of the various things you absolutely cannot bring into the IB examination room? Relax. IB Exams aren't until May.  It will all be in the documents section this Spring.

IBO TEST RESULTS (for MAY 2019 Exams)

May 2019 IBO exam results were released in July.  Candidates have been given personal codes and pin numbers to access their information from candidates.ibo.org.  Please contact Mr. Quinn if you have lost your codes.

Each Senior completed a form so that the IBO can send exam results directly to their college/university this summer.  If you did not request IB results to be mailed, you must login to the IB website and complete the form; the IB Coordinator does not have the authorization to forward exam results or IB transcripts on your behalf.

CAS ACTIVITY

Mr. Anthony Stewart is the CAS Coordinator for EWHS.  Students are expected to be working on CAS activities through the year and have a group project begun no later than November of their Senior Year.  New activities must be submitted to our CAS website (managebac) for approval. Mr. Stewart will check the managebac website on a regular basis to approve new additions. The CAS process is student-driven and deadlines must be met through personal accountability.  Note to students in the Class of 2021: The first day you could begin CAS is August 21, 2019 (our first day of official district activities for the academic year).
