8310 R1 - Procedures Regarding Child Abuse or Neglect



All school personnel who have reason to suspect that an instance of child abuse or neglect has occurred will immediately report the available information to the appropriate building administrator or program manager.

The building administrator, program manager, designee, or school personnel suspecting the abuse will promptly contact Children's Protective Services or the appropriate law enforcement agency and report the suspected incident of child abuse or neglect. Any conditions or information that cause a staff member to suspect that child abuse or neglect has occurred must be reported within 48 hours. A written report on the prescribed form, outlining details of each incident shall be sent to the appropriate student services program manager as soon after the oral report as possible.

Student services staff will copy the written report and log and forward the original to Children's Protective Services.
