7315 - Instruction in Health, Family Life, and Sex Education

Instruction in sex education and human sexuality must be appropriate to the developmental levels of students. Such instruction must meet district-approved curriculum objectives and must use only district-approved instructional resources.

Interested parents and community groups shall be encouraged to become involved in the planning, development, evaluation, and revision of any instruction in sex education and human sexuality offered as part of the school program.

Alternative instructional activities will be provided for any student whose parents choose not to have their child participate in instruction dealing with human sexuality. Any parent or legal guardian who wishes to have his/her child excused from such instruction may do so by filing a written request on the form available from the school principal.
