Extend Yourself. Branch Out. Volunteer.
The Edmonds School District invites you to get involved in our schools by becoming a volunteer. We are looking for members of the community who can apply their skills and experience to helping individual students with one-on-one tutoring in math, reading, or writing. Students experience positive growth by having an extra caring person in their lives and volunteers provide encouragement, build confidence, and help them grow academically.
Volunteers are also needed to assist high school students with Job Shadowing, Mock Interviews, Resume Critique and Senior Project mentoring.
Please complete a Volunteer Information Sheet for either elementary/middle schools (PDF) or high schools (PDF), depending on which age you would like to work with, so that we can better place you in one of our schools. All volunteers in the Edmonds School District must also complete a Mentor/Volunteer Disclosure Form and a Washington State Patrol Request for Criminal History Information (PDFs).
If you have time to spend just a few hours a week mentoring, tutoring, or being a lunch buddy, please contact a school today! Download our Volunteer Brochure (PDF).
Please contact your neighborhood school to inquire about volunteer opportunities.
You Can Make a Difference!
Why volunteer?
"I volunteer because even one kind word to a child could make all the difference to that child."
"I volunteer because it is a family tradition that I would like to pass on to my children. To be able to show our kids that no matter how busy we are, there is always time to help others."
"I love to volunteer, because I love working and being with the kids and to learn new things as they do."
"I want my kids to know that their education is important to me."
"To help the kids in our community."
