What's an Alphakey?
Find your student's alphakey in a roster from EA Plus. Then remove any spaces and special characters to generate the student's user name.
Alphakeys are always 11 characters long, made up of the following:
- First five letters of the student's last name
- If the last name is less than five characters, spaces are added for the alphakey
- For the user name, spaces and special characters, like apostrophes (') and hyphens (-), are removed
- First three letters of the first name
- If the first name is less than three characters, spaces are added for the alphakey
- For the user name, spaces and special characters, like apostrophes (') and hyphens (-), are removed
- Three numbers
- When there are duplicate alphakeys, the number increases by one
- The first is 000, the second name in the district will be 001 so the names will be unique
- Note that you do not know when there is a duplicate in the district, nor which is considered the second, third, or fourth--this is why you cannot guess

Creating Rosters in EA Plus
Teachers use Skyward Educator Access Plus (EA Plus) to look up students' alphakeys. Remove any spaces to determine user names.
- Go to http://eaplus.edmonds.wa-k12.net
- Enter your district user name (the same ones you use to log onto your district computer)
- Enter your password
- Click My Classes
- Select the class you want by clicking Class Options
- Click Reports
- Click Class Roster
- Select Name Key and all other options you want on the report
- Click Select Classes to View Report For
- Select the check boxes for each class you want and click Print
Note: To skip this step next time, from the Favorites menu, choose Add to Favorites
Note: User names changed in 07-08 to be the same as your district computer user name
Note: Your password is not the same as your district password. If you have never logged in before, please ask a tech contact in your building for the default password, call the Help Desk, or call Sam Gladstein. If you have forgotten your password, please use the "Forgot Password" link on the EA Plus login page.

A print queue screen opens. Your report will process for a few seconds, and then the report will display on your screen in a PDF format, which you can save or print.
