Accessing Student Digital Lockers
On Windows 2000 and XP computers, when students log on with their own user names and passwords, the My Documents link is mapped to their own personal folder on the district server, therefore everything they save to My Documents automatically saves to their own folder on the district server.
Accessing through WebTrekker™
Students using a Mac computer or logging in from outside the district network will have to use the web portal WebTrekker™ to access their digital locker files.
For more information on WebTrekker™, please view the introduction video.
Who Has Access
Students have full rights to their own folders. This means they can create folders, save documents, edit, and delete files.
District staff also have access to student drives. Staff members can view what students have saved, and can also save or drop a file into specific student folders. Staff members can also delete files from student drives that they put in themselves.
Students do not have access to each others' folders.
Viewing Students' Documents
To view students' documents:
- Open My Computer from your desktop or start menu.
- Double click on your H: Drive. This can be found under the "Network Drives" section.
- Double click on the class folder in which the student is enrolled. (Note: Teachers do not have access to personal folders of students who are not enrolled in their classes)
- Double click on the student's digital locker.
Student digital lockers are identified by their Alphakey. A student's alphakey can be found on Skyward EA+.
