Setting Up the Kyocera on a Mac

The Kyocera drivers need to be installed on Macs before following the setup instructions below. If you are running OS 10.4 on a district-owned computer, the driver should already be installed. If you are not running OS 10.4, please call the Help Desk at ext. 7333 for help finding the driver to install.

To find out what OS you are running, Click the Apple icon and choose About this Mac.

If you have OS 10.4.x, setup the printer:

  1. Follow these Mac Printer Setup directions, selecting the options listed at the steps below
  2. At step 1, log on as yourself on your levy assigned laptop--you should have Administrator rights
  3. At step 7:
    • Address:
      • Enter the IP address, which should be written on the printer
      • If it is not on the printer, open this Excel file, click the arrow next to school, choose your school, and use the IP address for the model you are setting up
    • Print Using:
      • Your printer manufacturer: Kyocera
      • NOTE: If Kyocera is not listed, the driver has not been installed. Please call the Help Desk at ext. 7333.

      • Printer model: select either:
        • Kyocera-Mita KM-5035 for smaller copier
        • Kyocera KM-6030 or Kyocera KM-8030 for larger copier
  4. At step 8, set the following for Installable Options:
    • For the KM-5035:
      • Paper feeder – not installed
      • Document finisher – Internal finisher
      • Optional Disk – Hard disk
      • Memory – 64MB Standard
    • For the KM-6030 and KM-8030:
      • Check Document Finisher
      • Optional Disk – Hard disk
      • Side Feeder – Not installed
      • Memory – 64MB Standard
