Using Templates in Word 2003
Some departments in the Edmonds School District have a set of templates to be used in Word. These directions are intended to walk people in those departments through attaching Word to the templates, and then accessing the templates in Word 2003.

Attaching Templates to Word
- Open Word (Start…All Programs…Microsoft Office…Microsoft Office Word 2003)
- Make sure a document is open in Word
- From the Tools menu, choose Options
- In the Options dialog box, click the File Locations tab
- On the File Locations tab, in the File types list, click Workgroup templates, then click Modify.
- In the Modify Location dialog box, in the Folder Name field, type \\drizzle\ templates$, and then click OK
- In the Options dialog box, click OK.

Note: The blank document that opens when you open Word is fine. If you are unsure, from the File menu, choose New.

Using Templates in Word 2003
To use the templates in Word 2003:
- From the File menu, choose New
- In the New Document pane, under the Templates heading, click On my computer…
- In the Templates dialog box, select the desired tab, and then double-click the desired template
