Installing Network Printers
To print to a network printer, you must first install the printer on your computer. Log into Windows while connected to the district network (wirelessly or wired) and then follow these directions:
NOTE: If you are using Internet Explorer, click the link for your school server in this list, use your 'back' button to return here, and then skip to step 4 below
- From the Start menu, choose Run
- In the Open field, type \\ followed by the name of your school’s server
- With the server name entered, click OK
- Double-click the printer you want to set up.
- Wait while your computer connects and installs the printer. It may take a little while depending on network traffic and speed.
- Close the Printer window
- Repeat steps 4-6 to set up additional printers, or close the Server window
The Run dialog box opens
Note: If you don't know your school server name, click here

A window opens listing all the network printers on the server you entered

Note: The printers are named first for the school (i.e. SV ), then for the room (i.e. RM-35 or LIBRARY ) and last for which printer it is in that room (i.e. 1 or 2 )
The Connecting To message opens.

When it is finished, the Printer window opens

Note: If you want this to be your default printer, please follow the directions for Setting the Default Printer.
