Message from the Superintendent
Dear Community,
I search to find the right words to convey our most sincere THANK YOU and deep appreciation for your support with the passage of the February 7 ballot measures in the Edmonds School District. liter·a·cy (noun) the ability to read and write
Put simply, literacy is the foundation of education. Reading and writing go hand in hand, and District staff emphasize this throughout our students’ education. We engage students in learning through interesting, hands-on activities that open students up to the joy of learning. We work to ensure that when students read a written passage, they are also able to understand the process that good readers use to find meaning and respond thoughtfully in writing to that passage. These core skills are taught in all of our schools. To learn more about how our students are gaining important literacy skills, click here.
