Annual Back-to-School Fair seeks specific supplies; 48 helpers

Back-to-school fair

Annually, a Back-to-School Resource and Health Fair is held in August, providing students in need with school supplies. This year’s event has some new and exciting changes:

· A health fair component has been added, so students will also receive vision and dental screening, immunizations and nutritional information;
· Due to the generosity of the Windermere Foundation and Verdant Health Commission, organizers were able to purchase many supplies in volume and at greatly reduced prices. Still needed are donations of the following listed items and quantities needed in parentheses (cash donations are also welcomed):

24-pack Crayola crayons (450)

plastic pencil boxes (280)

composition notebooks (750)

4-ounce glue bottles (450)

packages wide markers (280)

packages thin markers (55)

ear buds (500).

· Expecting to serve 600 students and families during the three-hour event, there is a goal to recruit 48 volunteers different time slots and positions. Interested? Contact Carmen Rasmussen, Family Center of Snohomish County at crasmussen@lcsnw.org or 425-670-8984 x22.
