District Battle of the Books commences Thursday

Battle of the Books Since 2000, teams of fourth, fifth and sixth graders from elementary schools across the district come together to compete for the district trophy; one team is named the Battle of the Books Champion. Second and third place trophies also go to home schools.   

 

The books for “the Battle” are chosen from the 2012 Sasquatch Award Nominees and the 2012 Young Reader’s Choice Nominees. You may see a complete listing of “Best Books” online or through an interactive PowerPoint presentation. The top two teams from each school are eligible to attend the district’s fun, friendly competition which consists of a series of questions with the answers being book titles. 

 

Teams from a record 16 elementary schools will be participating this year including:  Beverly, Brier, Cedar Valley, Cedar Way, Chase Lake, Edmonds, Hazelwood, Lynndale, Lynnwood, Meadowdale, Mountlake Terrace, Oak Heights, Seaview, Sherwood, Spruce, and Westgate.
