A voluntary process established by the NBPTS, certification is achieved through a rigorous process that typically takes more than a year to complete and measures what accomplished teachers should know and be able to do. Teachers must submit an extensive portfolio and assessment that documents their success in the classroom as evidenced by their students' learning.  The portfolio is then assessed by a national panel of peers.  Congratulations to these teachers for their achievement.
