Welcome to Kindergarten in the Edmonds School District!

Kick Off to Kindergarten NOTE: The first day of school for Kindergarten students is September 12, 2016 (students in grades 1-6 start on September 7). Parents of Kindergarten students will conference with their child's teacher during a Family Connection Meeting on a scheduled date on September 7, 8, or 9 (this meeting counts as a school day for your child, and s/he will be marked absent if you are unable to attend).

All incoming kindergarten students are encouraged to attend Jump Start for Kindergarten the week of August 15-19. Please contact your school for additional information.
Registration for the 2016-2017 school year is underway at your assigned school. Your student must be 5 years old by August 31, 2016 to be eligible for kindergarten. (Click here if your student will be 5 between September 1 and December 31, 2016, and you are interested in testing for early entrance into Kindergarten.)
Good news! The state of Washington is providing funding for full time kindergarten for all students starting kindergarten in September 2016 at no cost to parents! This means your students will attend school 5 days a week the same hours as students in grades 1-6.
If you missed one of the Kick Off to Kindergarten meetings in February at your school, check out the video about the registration process and other important information on the Kick Off to Kindergarten website.  Click here to view the Kindergarten Readiness Guidelines in 16 languages.
Please go to your assigned school to register. If you have questions, contact Shelley Roehl at 425-431-7176 or
