Welcome to Kindergarten in the Edmonds School District!
Registration for the 2017-2018 school year starts on March 1, 2017 at your assigned school. Your student must be 5 years old by August 31, 2017 to be eligible for kindergarten. (Click here if your student will be 5 between September 1 and December 31, 2017, and you are interested in testing for early entrance into Kindergarten.)
Good news! The state of Washington provides funding for
full time kindergarten for all kindergarten at no cost to parents! This means your students will attend school 5 days a
week the same hours as students in grades 1-6.
To find out about your school, and what you need to get your child registered, please plan on attending the Kick Off to Kindergarten meeting on February 13 from 6:30-7:30 at your school. The flyer about Kick Off to Kindergarten is here. If you are unable to attend the Kick Off event, you may pick up a registration packet after February 13 at your school. The earliest we can accept the packet is March 1. Remember to bring the important documents shown on the the "Register for Elementary School" part of our website (http://www.edmonds.wednet.edu/Page/808).
If you have questions, contact Shelley Roehl at 425-431-7176 or firstname.lastname@example.org
NOTE: The first day of school for Kindergarten students is (tentatively scheduled for) September 11, 2017 (students in grades 1-6 tentatively start on September 6). Parents of Kindergarten students will conference with their child's teacher during a Family Connection Meeting on a scheduled date on September 6, 7, or 8 (this meeting counts as a school day for your child, and s/he will be marked absent if you are unable to attend).
All incoming kindergarten students are encouraged to attend Jump Start for Kindergarten the week of August 21-25, 2017. Please save these summer dates for this fun and informative session for your student!
