Meadowdale Middle, one of four middle schools in the Edmonds School District,
serves more than 650 students in grades 7 and 8.
Our Goals Include:
- Math — Utilize new district-adopted math materials to build understanding
and confidence in students’ math abilities.
- Reading & Writing — Require all students to set a goal during Reading Advisory, and
focus on comprehension, inference, and critical-thinking skill development strategies each day.
Our Celebrations Include:
- Percentage of seventh-graders meeting standard on the 2007 Washington Assessment of Student Learning:
- Reading: 80.5%
- Math: 60.0%
- Writing: 78.9%

- Strategies used by all teachers and silent reading time in third period reflect in our Washington Assessment
of Student Learning reading scores in 2007; 80.5 percent (seventh grade) and 81.4 percent (eighth grade) are
higher than the state average of 68.5 and 64.7 percent, respectively.
