College Place Middle, one of four middle schools in the Edmonds School District, serves almost 600 students in grades 7 and 8.

Our Goals Include:

  • Math — Improve students’ basic computational skills and apply math strategies to various academic and social contexts.
  • Reading & Writing — Expand school-wide use of writing process and writing rubrics throughout all content areas, and re-emphasize effective reading strategies using non-fiction materials in all content areas.

Our Celebrations Include:

  • Percentage of seventh-graders meeting standard on the 2007 Washington Assessment of Student Learning:
    • Reading: 73.0%
    • Math: 52.0%
    • Writing: 62.2%

  • In the 2007-08 school year, College Place Middle launched a "Cougar Connections" advisory/advocacy class that is designed to connect students with one staff member and fellow students in an effort to discuss and promote pathways to success for all students.
