Westgate Elementary, one of the 21 elementary schools in the Edmonds School District, serves approximately 350 students in grades K through 6.

Our Goals Include:

  • Math — Apply thinking strategies commonly associated with reading and writing to mathematics instruction in order to help students deepen their understanding and to help teachers differentiate math instruction.
  • Reading & Writing — Develop and improve literacy skills and strategies that enable students to become independent and thoughtful readers and writers.

Our Celebrations Include:

  • Percentage of fourth-graders meeting standard on the 2007 Washington Assessment of Student Learning:
    • Reading: 77.8%
    • Math: 59.3%
    • Writing: 68.5%
For more scores, please visit the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction's website.
  • Teachers created an effective tool for students during the 2006-07 school year called Math Boxes, which provided the supplies and tools necessary for students to practice math skills at home with their parents in a fun way.
