Spruce Elementary, one of the 21 elementary schools in the Edmonds School District, serves more than 400 students in grades K through 6.

Our Goals Include:

  • Math — Encourage grade-level meetings for teachers to collaboratively work together and increase student confidence in their understanding.
  • Reading & Writing — Use of the reading logs at home and the writer’s notebooks ensures students have ongoing participation in an effort to obtain increased student achievement.

Our Celebrations Include:

  • Percentage of fourth-graders meeting standard on the 2007 Washington Assessment of Student Learning:
    • Reading: 69.2%
    • Math: 54.7%
    • Writing: 52.3%

  • The "teacher team" of Anna Walter, Carrie Cullum, Jennie Warmouth, and Sheila Williams were awarded a $1,500 grant from the Edmonds Public Education Foundation for a project with students entitled, "Sketching Plants and Bugs at Lund’s Gulch."
