Sherwood Elementary, one of the 21 elementary schools in the Edmonds School District,
serves more than 300 students in grades K through 6.
Our Goals Include:
- Math — Apply successful comprehension strategies used in teaching reading and writing to math lessons,
and improve communication between grade levels around mathematical concepts.
- Reading & Writing — Encourage a love of reading by giving students ample time to practice reading
and using "thinking about their thinking" strategies to develop deeper understanding of text.
Our Celebrations Include:
- Percentage of fourth-graders meeting standard on the 2007 Washington Assessment of Student Learning:
- Reading: 77.2%
- Math: 61.4%
- Writing: 61.4%
For more scores, please visit the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction's website.
- More than 20 volunteers helped make Young Authors’ Day at Sherwood a success in 2007, further supporting the
school’s goal of assisting students in their efforts to become clear communicators and writers.
