Hazelwood Elementary School

Hazelwood Elementary, one of the 21 elementary schools in the Edmonds School District, serves nearly 400 students in grades K through 6.

Our Goals Include:

• Math — Improve levels of student achievement in math by having staff analyze the state Grade Level Expectations and align our instruction with these.
• Reading & Writing — Deepen student comprehension skills and have students become more engaged, reflective, and proficient learners who use thinking strategies as they read and as they express ideas in writing.

Our Celebrations Include:

• Percentage of fourth-graders meeting standard on the 2007 Washington Assessment of Student Learning:

  • Math: 57.6%

• Each trimester, Hazelwood is able to recognize students who have earned their “Hazelwood Way” membership by earning high marks in Lifelong Learning Skills (areas such as respect, responsibility, cooperation, etc.), thanks to the support of Evergreen Bank.
