College Place Elementary School

College Place Elementary, one of the 21 elementary schools in the Edmonds School District, serves more than 500 students in grades K through 6.

Our Goals Include:

• Math — Focus continues on problem-solving techniques and strategies that will incorporate the necessary vocabulary with math skills to increase students’ abilities to solve the problems at hand.
• Reading & Writing — Continue to implement a reading program utilizing the reader’s workshop model and strategies to increase what our students are understanding from their readings school-wide.

Our Celebrations Include:

• Percentage of fourth-graders meeting standard on the 2007 Washington Assessment of Student Learning:
  • Reading: 76.1%
  • Math: 47.9%
  • Writing: 67.6%

• College Place Elementary students raised more money than any other Edmonds School District school — more than $3,000 — in their coin drive benefiting Clothes for Kids, a local nonprofit that supplies clothing to students in need.
