Cedar Way Elementary, one of the 21 elementary schools in the Edmonds School District,
serves nearly 400 students in grades K through 6.
Our Goals Include:
- Math — Improve student learning in mathematics by improving teachers’ ability to design and
implement interventions for the students who do not demonstrate proficiency on performance assessments.
- Reading & Writing — Improve students’ ability to read for a variety of purposes in many
different genres. Enable students’ writing by improving teaching strategies to help students read like writers, think
like writers, and use the writing process on a regular basis while paying closer attention to the standard writing
conventions.
Our Celebrations Include:
- Percentage of fourth-graders meeting standard on the 2007 Washington Assessment of Student Learning:
- Reading: 71.4%
- Math: 44.9%
- Writing: 55.1%
For more scores, please visit the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction's website.
- In 2007-08, Cedar Way staff is building upon its already vibrant and collaborative learning community,
with four classroom teachers pursuing their National Board Certification, two teachers pursuing their master’s
degrees, and one teacher who has successfully completed her master’s degree.
